Older people

 Two older people gardening.

We are committed to the inclusion of residents over 50 years of age in community life.

We adopted the River of Life Positive Ageing Strategy and Action Plan in 2006.

The strategy was developed by us with the support of the Active Ageing Advisory Group.

The group collaborates with us and the community in raising awareness of ageing issues and promoting a Yarra culture that responds to the needs and aspirations of all older people. A key responsibility of the group is to oversight the implementation of the action plan.

This strategy is currently being reviewed and updated and will result in a new action plan which will be ready to be endorsed by Council in the latter half of 2018.
