COVID-19 and recruitment

Yarra City Council is committed to ensuring the safety of our people and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many of our employees are currently working remotely or in a way that is different to normal, which may impact our recruitment processes including time to respond to applicants and conducting online interviews instead of in-person. Some roles may also require temporary remote working arrangements, if applicable this will be discussed with you at the time of interview.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

At Yarra, we aim to make a positive difference to people's lives

We are determined to continuously improve the level of service we provide to our community. We do not shy away from tackling complicated community issues.

Our flexible work arrangements support the non-work responsibilities and interests of our staff, and assist their health and wellbeing through our award-winning health and wellbeing program.

We offer a diverse range of career opportunities and encourage professional development through many leadership development and training programs.

Our values

We aim to achieve the greatest outcomes for the community through delivering our Council Plan and working with, and for, all in Yarra.

Our values guide our conduct and working relationships with colleagues and the community.

  • Accountability: We own what we do and expect others to as well.
  • Respect: We include all. Diversity is our strength.
  • Courage: We are intentional in our actions. We seek the brave path.
