Keele Street Children’s Centre is a 37-place early childhood education and care service located in Collingwood, catering for children aged 0-6.
Our small, unique building feels more like a family home than a childcare centre. We offer flexible classrooms that open up into our large outdoor yard, promoting opportunities for children to play both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
Keele Street Children’s Centre Bush Kinder program, which has been developed to support children to connect to Country and nature, won the Emeritus Professor Collette Tayler Excellence in Educational Leadership Award at the 2022 Victorian Early Years Awards.

What we offer
The families who attend Keele Street tend to create lasting connections with their child’s educators and be actively involved in their child’s early learning. Our educators to get to know each family individually and understand the unique context from which each child comes to us from.
The benefits to the child in attending such a small, community focussed service, is that they are able to form secure attachments to trusted adults quickly providing an excellent foundation to support them in their educational experience throughout life.
Our educators are all first aid trained and maintain up to date training of anaphylaxis and asthma management, CPR, Red Nose safe sleep standards and child protection, so you can be assured that your child is in the safest of hands.
Keele Street's qualified onsite cook prepares delicious and healthy meals daily. Our seasonal menu has been developed with the aid of nutritionists, ensuring we offer each child a broad range of options to meet their recommended daily intake needs. We offer progressive mealtimes and flexible routines that cater to the individuals needs of each child. Excursions, meals and nappies are included within our daily fees, which means there are no hidden costs for families.
