Keele Street Children’s Centre is a 37-place early childhood education and care service located in Collingwood, catering for children aged 0-6.
Our small, unique building feels more like a family home than a childcare centre. We offer flexible classrooms that open up into our large outdoor yard, promoting opportunities for children to play both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
The families who attend Keele Street tend to create lasting connections with their child’s educators and be actively involved in their child’s early learning. Our educators to get to know each family individually and understand the unique context from which each child comes to us from.

Our educators are all first aid trained and maintain up to date training of anaphylaxis and asthma management, CPR, Red Nose safe sleep standards and child protection, so you can be assured that your child is in the safest of hands.
Keele Street's qualified onsite cook prepares delicious and healthy meals daily. Our seasonal menu has been developed with the aid of nutritionists, ensuring we offer each child a broad range of options to meet their recommended daily intake needs. We offer progressive mealtimes and flexible routines that cater to the individuals needs of each child. Excursions, meals and nappies are included within our daily fees, which means there are no hidden costs for families.

The Victorian Government has announced that from 2023, free kindergarten programs will be available for all Victorian three and four-year-old children at participating services.
Sessional Kindergarten enrolments will attract up to $2000 worth of funding, this means that all sessional kindergarten programs managed by Yarra City Council will be delivered for free for children who choose a Yarra service as their primary Kindergarten program provider.

Registration: First you will need to register by completing the online Central Registration System application form. Once registered, you will be contacted by our service’s administration team as soon as we have a position available for your child.
Confirmation and enrolment: Once we receive verbal confirmation that you wish to accept the offer, we will email you a formal invitation to enrol (with instructions). You will need access to a computer or mobile device and an internet connection to complete the enrolment process. If you require assistance with this, please let us know.
Orientation: Once your child’s enrolment start date has been confirmed, we will arrange an orientation schedule for you and your child to visit our centre and meet our team. The orientation will usually occur in the two weeks prior to your child’s enrolment start date and you will be required to remain onsite with your child during these visits.
