Community recycling/disposal stations

There are a range of community recycling and disposal stations available locally for items that cannot be collected through your kerbside waste and recycling service.

Electrical waste

Ink cartridges (printer/toner)

Ink cartridges can be recycled by the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program who provide a free, easy and environmentally friendly way to recycle your used printer cartridges. You can drop off your used or empty laser and inkjet cartridges at all Officeworks stores and participating Australia Post, Cartridge World, Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Office National and Office Products Depot outlets.

Chemical and hazardous waste

Chemicals (including household)

Sustainability Victoria offers a free Detox Your Home service which allows you to safely dispose of toxic, unwanted household chemicals.

Medicines

Any out of date or unwanted medicines can be taken to your local pharmacy for disposal.

Soft plastics

Chip packets, cling wrap and plastic bags

These can be recycled at most supermarkets at RedCycle stations. Find your nearest REDcycle collection bin.
