If you park your vehicle in a ticketed parking area and the machine is faulty you can contact us to report it.
How do I report a broken ticket machine?
Call Yarra City Council 9205 5555 and report the faulty ticket machine or you can report it online.
When you call please provide the following details:
- full name
- phone number
- exact address where the vehicle is parked
- the ticket machine number which is located on the side of the ticket machine (for example: SMT-014)
- vehicle's registration number
- time of report
- description of fault (for example: not issuing tickets, coin jam, message says 'machine closed')
Make sure you write down the reference number you are given - you may need this later.
What happens next?
Once you have submitted your report you are allowed to park for the maximum amount of time listed on the parking sign. For example, if it is 2P you may park for 2 hours.
If you do receive a parking fine you must appeal it and include the reference number you were given in your appeal.
