Do you need funding for a local community or art project? Yarra City Council is investing up to $1.3 million in the community as part of its 2024 Annual Grants program.

Funding is available to not-for-profit organisations in Yarra working across health and wellbeing, climate action and sustainability, sports and recreation, arts and youth, and family programs. Individual artists can also apply for funding through the arts grants stream. It’s part of our broader $2.67 million grants program

Yarra’s Annual Grants program has had significant impact in the community over the last few years:

  • Social enterprise florists The Beautiful Bunch were able to upgrade their shop fitout and start hosting workshops, which expanded their revenue streams and created more opportunities for young women from refugee backgrounds facing barriers to employment.
  • Not-for-profit fashion school The Social Studio have been able to launch their free Cross-Stitch workshop program and pay facilitating artists with no fees for participants.
  • Fitzroy Lions Soccer Club have been able to break down barriers to accessing sport by eliminating club fees and registration fees and providing free uniforms for anyone who needs them. They are the only registered soccer club in Australia to offer this.
  • Friends of the Merri Creek Labyrinth have been able to continue their efforts in improving local biodiversity, restoring the iconic Merri Creek Labyrinth and engaging locals through their community tree planting day.

From one-off events to ongoing programs, Yarra’s Annual Grants program supports a wide range of small and large-scale initiatives aimed at strengthening our community, protecting our natural environment and creating thriving, accessible and connected local spaces.

Apply online by Monday 31 July.
