Resolutions and other motions from this week's Council Meeting - 29 March

At Tuesday night’s Council meeting, Council adopted the following:
• Yarra’s advocacy’s priorities for the Australian Federal Election
Council endorsed:
• The principles to support the decision-making for Yarra’s new Commonwealth Support at Home Program for older people and people with disability, as part of the National Aged Care Reforms
• The following motions for submission to the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) National General Assembly:
- Circular Economy and Waste Reduction
- Incentivising and facilitating up-take of Electric Vehicles
- Flood Planning and Mitigation
- Humanitarian refugees from active conflict zones.
Petitions and letters:
• Council received a petition for the permanent closure of the north-western end of Cameron Street, Richmond.
Delegates’ reports:
• A delegates' report was presented to Council on the Business Advisory Committee.
• A delegates' report was presented to Council on the Metropolitan Local Government Waste Forum.
Notices of Motion:
• Council moved to support Melbourne Pride as an ongoing, annual event held in the City of Yarra each year.
• Council moved to seek stakeholder engagement to form a position on road closure parklets until 2023.
