COVID-19 vaccination update: March 2022

As restrictions continue to ease, it’s important we keep working to protect ourselves and our families from COVID-19.

Third doses:

If you’re 16 and over and you have received your second dose 3 or more months ago, you can have your third dose now. That means…

If you received your second dose in: You can have your third dose: 
 December 2021 or earlier  Now
 January 2022 April 2022 
 February 2022 May 2022 

You can get the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for your third dose regardless of the vaccine you received for your first two doses.

Vaccination for children:

COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone over the age of 5.

Pfizer is available for children aged 5 to 11 years. Moderna is also available for 6 to 11 years as of February 2022. If you have questions, ask your paediatrician which vaccine is recommended for your child.

To prepare for the appointment you will need to bring:

  • proof of your child’s age (such as their birth certificate, passport or school card)
  • a fitted face mask for yourself and your child (if they are aged 8 years and over).

You can also go to local GPs, pharmacies, and health centres in Yarra to get your vaccine.
