We talked to Sean Simmons about his Richmond based travel agency, which provides travel services to small and large businesses. Like many small business owners, Sean worked in his area of expertise before branching out on his own. "In 2007, having worked for several travel organizations, both in Australia and overseas, an idea was starting to take shape in my head of the type of service I wanted to provide to customers."

The agency didn't happen overnight, but when it did launch, he was ready with a healthy base of customers. "Sean Simmons Travel became a reality on November 1st, 2011. Or official launch party had over 300 customers and suppliers in attendance."

The agency also publishes a comprehensive monthly magazine published for clients, TURBULENCE. In its first form, the magazine was a small newsletter with offers and industry news. Sean explains, "Over a period of time, and many surveys later, it was clear that our clients wanted more information, specialist points of view, detailed advice and recommendations on airlines, hotels and destinations."

"It has grown to an average of 45 pages per publication, is distributed to 35 countries, has over 50,000 click-throughs per publication, and is distributed via an online platform called ISSUU. It takes a lot of effort to produce each month, however, our readers' feedback is incredibly favourable, and we get regular requests for special features AND feature client reviews and stories."

Sean's recommended local hotspot is Bouzy Rouge on Bridge road. He says it has "the best Suckling Pig in Melbourne by far. Love the eclectic ambiance and the crazy owner. Always a great night out. Sangria Paella on a Sunday arvo is a great way to chill.
