Road and footpath inspections taking place in Yarra

Friday 20 April 2018

ALT/ residential street

We’ve started a road and footpath inspection around Yarra so we can identify what requires renewing and maintenance. This will help improve the community’s connectivity, mobility and safety.

Who is doing this?

This will be done by one of our asset inspection contractors, Infrastructure Management Group.

When is this happening?

The inspection began Monday 16 April and will go for approximately 3 weeks.

Why are we doing this?

We are doing this in order to understand the condition of Yarra’s roads, drainage, footpaths and shared access ways through taking detailed video imaging.

What is actually happening?

Footpath assessment: Vehicles (all terrain quad bikes) will be travelling at a brisk walking pace, completing an assessment and video recordings of footpaths, cycle ways and shared access ways.

Road assessment: These vehicles will be travelling at normal speeds, while completing laser measurement and video recordings of the roads.

Do you need to do anything?

No, we only ask that you leave a full car distance from road assessment vehicles in order for their rear cameras to have a clear image of the road.

How does this affect you?

This will not affect you. All cameras are focused on the road and kerb surfaces. There will be no video recordings of residential houses, private properties or structures being taken.

We thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time.
