Business Profile: Julie Hyde leadership
Friday 10 November 2017
You might recognise Julie Hyde as the MC at many of Yarra's 2017 business networking events. She's a leadership coach based in Richmond who just released a book called 'Busy?', and runs a women's networking group called Disruption Women and Wine.
She says, "I started my business because I saw first hand throughout my Corporate Career the benefit of leadership and the impact that leaders can have on others – that can be positive or negative. I also saw the role that confidence plays within individuals. The confidence piece is something I work with women on in particular and champion them to ‘own their space’."
Julie has been based in the Richmond area for 16 years. She says, "I moved to Yarra 16 years ago because from a young age I have always wanted to live in Richmond. I love everything it has to offer. It’s diverse, inclusive and electric. There’s always something happening and there is so much to do – from events, to walking the beautiful walking tracks, to eating and drinking and the many amazing cafes and restaurants."
"I love its history and how passionate people are about where they live. Having the Yarra river on our doorstep is just so wonderful – city life and a touch of country living all in one. We chose to get married at Amora Riverwalk on the reserve to include our gorgeous suburb and the Yarra river in our wedding as it’s important to us. I also love that we’re 20-minute walk from the MCG!"
Julie is inspired by many Yarra businesses, including "Ryan Gately and the work they do to strengthen the human spirit and ensure people are thriving in the workplace, the Exchange co-working space on Lennox Street for bringing businesses together and the focus on sustainability... and the many textile businesses in Collingwood that are bucking the trend to go overseas."
