Yarra City Council is introducing a new kerbside waste stream starting collection on the week of the 1 July 2024.

Residents and organisations that receive a kerbside waste collection service from Council will receive a new 120 litre lime green-lidded bin, between April and June 2024, for food and garden organic (FOGO) materials.

This new FOGO collection service will provide our community with a new avenue to reduce waste, recycle more materials and contribute to a circular economy.

Council understands that residents have a range of questions about this service. We’ve organised lots of opportunities for you to discuss these questions with our friendly waste team.

In-person FOGO pop-up sessions will be held on:

• Saturday 6 April
• 12 midday to 2pm
• Victoria Park (near the corner of Lulie St and Turner St)

• Thursday 16 May
• 4pm to 6pm
• Victoria Steet on Corner of Nicholson

• Saturday 8 June
• 10am to 12 midday
• Fairfield Park (Near toilet block)
