Parenting after violence

A five-week online program for mothers dealing with the effects of family violence

The sessions will include a mix of psychoeducational information, group discussions and peer support, self-care and meditation.

This session covers 

  • Family violence and its effects on you and your children
  • Understanding children and their behaviour
  • Understanding yourselves and your challenges as parents
  • Moving on as parent (after family violence)
  • Developing skills for parenting
  • Self-care

School readiness

Is your child going to start primary school in 2025?

Need some help deciding if your child is ready for Prep?

Regardless of your experience in early childhood education, there are a few things you can do to prepare your family for the leap into prep. The transition from kinder to prep is an exciting time. It can also feel quite overwhelming and can be challenging to decide if now is the ‘right time’.

Join us for two free online discussion with a panel of professionals who will share their thoughts on what school readiness looks like over two sessions.

This session covers 

  • School readiness skills.
  • Essential building blocks for developing resilience.
  • Choosing which school to enrol your child in.
  • Additional resources you could explore.

After School Meltdowns 

An interactive discussion delivered by Emma-Rose Parsons, Psychologist

  • Is your child/teen coping well at school, with teachers reporting they had a great day, only for them to fall apart in the car?
  • Do they wait until they are home and then the ‘wheels fall off’?   

If this sounds like your child/teen, please join us to learn why this happens and how you can support them to have a calmer afternoon.

Parental Burnout

Presented by Frances Bilbao, Clinical Psychologist and founder of Mums Matter Psychology group this webinar this presentation will help if you are finding the stress of parenting difficult to manage.

When daily stress becomes chronic it can turn into parental burnout. This is an intense exhaustion that leads parents to feeling detached from their children and unsure of their parenting abilities, distinct from other forms of burnout.

This session covers:

  • What is burnout?
  • How burnout can show up in your life
  • What is putting you at risk?
  • Skills to reduce risk and start feeling better 

This session is designed for parents of children of all ages.
