Off the Kerb goes virtual and online

Off the Kerb Goes Virtual & Online

Off the Kerb Goes Virtual & Online is the gallery’s response to coronavirus (COVID-19), designed to support artists and enable audiences to continue to experience art while practicing social distancing.

Audiences are now able to move and navigate through Off the Kerb’s gallery spaces and engage with exhibitions online – in a way that is as close to the physical experience as possible. You’ll be able to virtually walk up to the artworks on display to view them clearly on your screen, and also make purchases. All artworks on display are original and by Melbourne’s emerging to mid-career visual artists and street artists.

Founded by Shini Pararajasingham in 2007, Off the Kerb is an Artist Run Initiative in Collingwood, which fosters and exhibits emerging to mid-career Australian artists, curators, designers and sound producers. Over the past 13 years, the gallery has offered a unique gathering of experimental and commercial contemporary art and creative practices.

In response to COVID-19, Off the Kerb has adapted to take art to their audiences, to adhere to current social distancing laws and bring enjoyment and inspiration to their community in this challenging climate. This project will also provide opportunities to emerging and mid-career local artists who have had exhibitions cancelled due to the current pandemic.
