Joshinder

Thursday 07 March 2019

In recognition of International Womens Day 2019, The Ewing Trust and Yarra Libraries presents Joshinder, a solo dance performance by renowned dancer, choreographer, actor, writer and producer Joshinder Chaggar.

Joshinder combines an integration of spoken word, classical Indian dance, experimental movement and physical theatre to explore the visceral experience of stillness, happiness, laughter and fully embracing one's femininity, power & vulnerability. Set against a backdrop of music & costumes from Pakistan, Joshinder aims to raise an important question for both performer and audience - Can there be drama without any drama? If there is no conflict, is anyone interested?

Joshinder Chaggar is a performing and creative artist with a passion for experimental dance theatre. She has performed and taught in Melbourne, Sydney, Karachi, Mumbai and Munich.
