Organised by arts advocates, benefactors and long-term Gertrude supporters Michael Schwarz and David Clouston, and Antje and Andrew Géczy, this invitational studio residency program provides the opportunity for Australian and New Zealand artists to live and work for a period in Chenaud, France, and opens avenues for the experience of working within a European context in order to develop new work to be exhibited in Australia.

André Piguet and Jackson Slattery were selected for the second iteration of this residency and spent six weeks living and working in Chenaud from June - July 2018. This exhibition presents a selection of works made by the artist during this time or emanating from the experience. La Dronne draws upon the experience of the rural region where the residency is located.
