International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the historical achievements of women and the worldwide need for greater gender equality.
This coming March, we will mark this global event by presenting the 2019 Women of Yarra Awards.
Now in its 6th year, the awards celebrate the unique contributions women make to community, culture and progressive social change.
Nominations are now closed.
What are the awards?
There will be four awards. An emerging and established award will be announced for each category (individual and group).
What is the selection process?
A panel including our Mayor Cr Bosler and representatives from other local organisations will assess the nominations. The selection criteria will be considered when reviewing the nominations.
When is the award ceremony?
Winners will be announced at the Women of Yarra Awards ceremony on Friday 8 March from 1.30pm to 3pm at Collingwood Town Hall and we invite you to join us.
A free and delicious afternoon tea will be catered by ASRC catering.
There will be an opportunity before and after the ceremony to meet all the nominees and find out about their impressive achievements.
You must register if you wish to attend.
Are there other events?
Join us for a range of other events to celebrate the achievements of women in our community.
We are hosting community events from Saturday 2 March to Sunday 10 March, including guest speakers and panel discussions, DJ performances, art exhibitions, girls’ and women leisure programs, women in business events and more.
