About 

Growing up in Abbotsford in the 60s and working and running businesses in Fitzroy and Collingwood, Michael has been a part of the ever-changing and cosmopolitan areas of Brunswick, Gertrude and Smith Streets for four decades.

Michael migrated to Melbourne from Greece in 1963 and owned various businesses in the 1980s including the Golden Fleece service station on Brunswick St, before taking over the Austrian Club and transforming it into the Aegean Restaurant. It has since become an iconic Fitzroy landmark for more than 35 years.

During his decades in Yarra, Michael has seen many changes and has loved being part of such a vibrant and culturally diverse community.

Michael loves his community and has come to appreciate the importance of community, and making sure everyone has their voice heard.

It is Michael’s first time in council and he is very passionate about creating a progressive and ethical Yarra.
