If you need a building permit, you will need to engage a private building surveyor of your choice. The Victorian Building Authority can help you find a building surveyor.

Before you start building in Yarra, you must check what permits and consents you need. What you need will depend on your build.

Track an application, submit an application, or make a payment online through our eProperty application search.

Search for a Building Permit by typing in the reference number (electronic building application or eBA) or the property address.

Older building applications will not have an eBA reference number.

The building permit fee is determined by the private building surveyor you choose.

You will be charged a statutory lodgement fee for each new building permit document submitted to Yarra City Council, regardless of the cost of works.

You will be charged a State Government Levy if the works costs most than $10,000.
