We continuously review our property holdings to ensure we own the right properties in the right locations. This involves selling surplus properties, acquiring new properties, and considering road discontinuances when appropriate.
Council land may be available for purchase through public tender or direct negotiation
If you own land that could benefit the community, you can submit a proposal for Council consideration
If a road or laneway is no longer required for public use, it may be eligible for discontinuance and sale
Â
How to apply:
- Submit an Inquiry - Contact Council to determine if the road or laneway is eligible for discontinuance.
 - Council Assessment - If the road may no longer be required for public use, Council will invite you to submit a formal road discontinuance application, including necessary documentation.
 - Statutory Consultation - A public notice is issued, allowing the community to submit feedback or objections.
 - Final Decision - Council reviews submissions and makes a determination on the discontinuance and potential sale.
