There are a range of situations that require a road closure and/or Traffic Management Plan (TMP).

Road closures

If your planned works and/or event requires a full road or laneway closure you must distribute a notification letter to surrounding residents (within 100 metres) seven days prior to the closure date.

We must approve your letter before you distribute it.

Please use the Road Closure Notification Template [ DOC, 388.5 KB] to help you with your letter.

Construction Management Plans (CMP) can distribute a monthly notification letter, followed by a notification letter two days prior to works. Please refer to your Planning Permit or visit the Construction Management Plan page on our website.

Traffic Management Plans

If you are planning any works on a road, street, lane or footpath, you must submit a TMP with your application.

The plan covers temporary changes to traffic conditions, road and footpath closures and traffic detours.

Who can prepare a Traffic Management Plan?

A Traffic Management Plan must be prepared by a qualified person.

You must ensure the information provided is true and accurate. Any inaccurate information or inconsistencies may result in a delay in your application assessment.
