Emergency food relief in Yarra

Grocieries in brown paper bags

We’re working with local community organisations to ensure grocery vouchers, food packages and pre-made meals are available to those who need them during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

On this page is information for the whole community, as well as specific information for:

Support for people in mandatory self-isolation

Victorians in mandatory self-isolation who have no access to food and essential supplies, and no network of family and friends to support them, can receive emergency relief packages from the Victorian Government.

Each eligible household will receive a two-week supply of essential goods. The packages will be delivered door-to-door, with other distribution points to be established as required.

Call the dedicated COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398.

Support for people who are socially isolated or experiencing hardship

If you need help beyond what your family and friends can offer, some assistance is available however it is limited and may not always be exactly what you seek.

Some organisations may ask for details of your situation (e.g. health card, bills, hardships) to identify who you are and what problems you face. This is so resources can be fairly shared and people can be connected to the help they need.

Contact the service providers listed below to find out what support you may be eligible for.

Isolated individuals

People with limited support from family or friends and are self-isolating due to COVID-19 can receive support in accessing food and essential supplies.
