The Minister for Local Government, the Hon Shaun Leane MP, today announced Yehudi Blacher as the Municipal Monitor appointed to Yarra City Council under section 179 of the Local Government Act 2020 to guide good governance and provide regular reports and recommendations to the Minister.

Mr Blacher’s appointment is effective for a period of six months, commencing on Monday 20 December 2021.

Mr Blacher will work closely with Councillors and the Executive Management Team during his appointment.

Yarra Mayor Councillor Sophie Wade said the Council was committed to working in the best interests of the local community.
