Improving the streetscape near North Richmond Station
Recent maintenance works have transformed the corner of Jones Street near the ramp leading to North Richmond Station. Overgrown palm trees have been trimmed back, improving sightlines and creating a more open and welcoming space for people moving through the area.
These works have enhanced visibility at this busy location while contributing to a cleaner and more inviting streetscape.
New activation at Post Office Way
Following the successful installation of streetscape activations at the Park Street and Charles Street garden beds, a new activation has been introduced at Post Office Way.
Featuring greenery and creative design elements, the installation aims to brighten the streetscape and support the ongoing revitalisation of the precinct. It is another step toward creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment along Victoria Street. This project was funded by the State Government.
Roller Door Removal Program
Work is progressing on the Roller Door Removal Program which is aimed at supporting businesses on Victoria Street to improve their shopfront appearance and visibility, attract new customers and create a cleaner, safer and more welcoming Victoria Street.
This Program is being led by Council in partnership with the Victoria Street Business Association with funding support from the Victorian Government through Business Victoria.
The program will assist eligible Victoria Street businesses to replace solid roller doors with permeable security screens, this will help to create a more open and inviting streetscape while maintaining security for businesses.
