Have your say to improve road safety in Brunswick Street North and Holden Street

The Brunswick Street North and Holden Street Road Safety Study is part of Yarra's commitment to improving road safety for all road users.

30 Oct 2026

Yarra City Council is investigating Brunswick Street North and Holden Street for opportunities to improve road safety. The study area is bounded by Holden Street, Brunswick Street North, Park Street and Rae Street, and includes the Capital City Trail crossings at Rae Street and Brunswick Street North.

The area was reviewed as part of the Scotchmer, Fitzroy North Local Area Place Making Study in 2018. We are taking a fresh look at the area to explore what else might improve road safety outcomes.

We want to better understand safety issues, including crashes or near misses involving cyclists and reports of unsafe driver behaviour, particularly around the Capital City Trail crossings.

We’ll use community feedback, crash data and site observations to identify ways to improve accessibility and safety for everyone using Brunswick Street North and Holden Street.

Have your say

If you walk, ride, drive or travel through the study area, we want to hear about your experiences, and any safety concerns you may have.
Visit Your Say Yarra to have your say before 11:59pm on Sunday 29 November 2026.
