Richmond Recreation Centre closed on Monday 14 August due to an unforeseen plumbing issue in our change rooms.

The venue will be closed until 2pm Tuesday 15 August in order for emergency plumbing works to occur. Our Operations team are working hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

We encourage you to visit either Collingwood Leisure Centre or Fitzroy Swimming Pool which remain open.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure of Richmond Recreation Centre. 

What happens to my group exercise booking? 

All active group exercise bookings for scheduled classes at Richmond Recreation Centre up until 2pm on Tuesday 15 August have been cancelled.

You will receive a credit to your account if you paid for a class online.

There is nothing you need to do; the credit will appear in the ‘My Purchases’ section of the online portal. 

Will I receive a credit for my cancelled swimming lesson?

A credit will be applied to your account for any cancelled classes.

When will the centre reopen?

Richmond Recreation Centre will reopen at 2pm on Tuesday 15 August.

Plumbing works and repairs are ongoing and until these works are complete there will be limited access to shower facilities over the next couple of days. We encourage you to visit the centre prepared for your workout or swim and if possible to shower at home.
