This week is Gambling Harm Awareness Week, encouraging community discussions about why gambling harm matters.

Anyone who gambles or knows someone who does, may be at risk of gambling harm. Harm from gambling starts earlier and occurs more frequently than you may think. The impact is often hidden and not spoken about because it can be sensitive or uncomfortable. That’s why the focus of Gambling Harm Awareness Week this year is to ‘TALK.SHARE.SUPPORT’.

TALK.SHARE.SUPPORT

Talking about gambling harm helps to make it easier for people struggling to reach out and share the impact gambling may be having. Talking and sharing can also help alleviate the stigma often associated with seeking support.

We're part of the group of leaders in the Alliance for Gambling Reform and we recognise the impact that gambling harm has on our community. We’re inviting our community to get involved in the week, by having open discussions about gambling harm, to understand it better, and to help prevent it from occurring.

Visit the responsible gambling website for more information and to find out how you can get involved. Alternatively, contact the Gambling Harm Awareness Week Project Manager on 9452 2600 or at [email protected].
