Forest Country - screening + film maker panel

Join Victorian film maker Lewi Haskins for a screening and discussion of his powerful short film, Forest Country. Shot over the course of a year alongside activists, conservationists and ecologists, this is a film maker’s plea to protect his beloved forest community in the Yarra Ranges from logging.  

Lewi Haskins will be joined by Stacie Piper — a proud Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung and Ngurai Illum-Wurrung woman featured in the film — alongside The Wilderness Society and Environmental Justice Australia. Together, we’ll explore why protecting our forests matters to all of us, share practical skills for effective campaigning, and discuss simple, meaningful actions you can take to make a real difference in your community. 

This event is being presented in partnership with Yarra Libraries and Environmental Films Australia as part of the Yarra Environmental Film Festival. Check out the other films being screened as part of the Festival.
