Cinema Yarra film screenings at Richmond and Collingwood libraries aim to educate, entertain, and connect our local communities. We want to enrich the lives of our patrons by offering free media access using Yarra Libraries' DVD collection and media available from streaming platforms Kanopy and Beamafilm.

 

By providing free access to diverse films we hope to foster community connections, build knowledge through shared experiences, and inspire our patrons to explore new ideas. We want our libraries to be inclusive spaces that are safe and welcoming for people of all backgrounds to experience cultural content together.

 

This program seeks to highlight a variety of voices and explore a diversity of topics which inspire reflection, analysis, and a deeper understanding of complex issues. We often support post-screening discussions where we engage with the film's themes and share our thoughts on the topics explored.
