The committee provides input into
- Kerbside and Parking Management Strategy
- Electric Vehicle Charging
- Self-powered active transport such as bicycles, kick scooters, walking and skateboards.
- Power-assisted micromobility including electric bicycles, electric scooters and powered ‘rideables’ (e.g. hover boards, segways, electric skateboards).
- Public transport administered by other levels of government including trains, trams and buses.
- Traffic and parking matters (e.g., road safety audits, changes to parking policy)
The Transport Advisory Committee is an advisory committee of Council. The Committee has a purely strategic focus.
The Committee should focus on issues and opportunities that are relevant across the entire municipality.
The Transport Advisory Committee has no delegated decision-making power from Council.
- 2 Councillors (appointed annually)
- 10 community or local community group representatives.
Applicants will be requested to submit a short statement of capabilities addressing the following criteria:
- A demonstrated interest or expertise in transport and road safety matters.
- An ability and commitment to consider the needs of current and future communities.
- capacity to consult and represent a wide range of views;
- understanding of the needs of a range of different transport users; and
- capacity to analyse information and advice on issues affecting transport users.
In selecting members, Council shall endeavour to establish a committee comprising:
- Members from different locations across the municipality; and
- Members with expertise and experience with different forms of transport.
As far as practicable, the composition of community members will reflect the diversity of the community in accordance with the Council Committees Policy [ PDF, 246.73 KB] .
