City Nature Challenge is a four-day global bioblitz, where cities around the world take part in a friendly competition to record wildlife observations.
It's easy to get involved!
- Find plants, animals or any evidence of wildlife around Yarra such as a bird call.
- Take a picture of what you find. Make sure you note the location of the critter or plant.
- Share your observations through Yarra's iNaturalist page.
Your participation helps scientists gain a better understanding of our local biodiversity and how we can better coexist with nature.
This year, we're teaming up with over 20 councils across metropolitan Melbourne, along with the Entomological Society of Victoria, Field Naturalists Club of Victoria, Melbourne Water, Victorian Environmental Friends Network, Port Phillip Ecocentre, Latrobe University/Nangak.
