In response to the 2023 announcement by the State Government to demolish 44 public housing towers in Victoria, artist Sally Anthony examines impermanence and urban transformation in this photographic series through sustained observation of a Carlton construction site. Capturing the rise of luxury homes alongside enduring public housing, Anthony documents fleeting arrangements, shifting textures, and subtle traces of activity, offering a visual exploration and meditation on what transforms, persists, or vanishes within Melbourne’s evolving urban landscape.
