Australian National Academy of Music Concerto Competition

Watch musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) perform concertos in the second round of the 2023 ANAM Concerto Competition.

Musicians will compete to be named one of the three finalists, who are given the opportunity to perform live in concert with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra later this year.

The ANAM Concerto Competition is an integral part of ANAM's performance training, providing our young musicians with a supported understanding of the processes and rigour of solo performance with an orchestra.

The annual event begins in semester one, where interested musicians are asked to record a 20-minute excerpt of a concerto or substantial solo work of their choice. This is then reviewed by an expert panel to select the top performances for progression to the second round.

The ANAM Concerto Competition 2023 Round 2 performances will run over two days. The sessions are free to attend, however bookings are required. A day pass will allow access to all sessions throughout the day.
