A Planning Services Review was undertaken of the Statutory and Strategic planning teams as part of Yarra City Council’s strong commitment to continuously plan, review and improve our services. The review was completed in 2024 and undertaken by an independent consultant.

The Planning Services Review included significant engagement with the community, particularly from community members who had been involved in Yarra City Council planning processes or may have had interactions with our Statutory and Strategic Planning teams, and key stakeholders.  We thank everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.

The review found that the existing planning services provided to the Yarra community are sound and high quality. It also identifies a range of minor improvements which will be implemented over a two-year period until June 2026. A report on the implementation of the review will be included in the Quarterly community report.
