Poetry as Passage invites you into a rich and reflective conversation.
Through readings and dialogue, Naarm-based poets, Autumn Royal and Manisha Anjali will share their creative processes, draw connections between language and the liminal, and offer insights into how poetry can act as a portal for healing, resistance, and revelation.

Autumn Royal creates drama, poetry and criticism on unceded Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country. Her most recent poetry collection, The Drama Student , was shortlisted for the 2023 Queensland Premier’s Judith Wright Calanthe Award and the 2024 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Poetry. Autumn is interviews editor for Cordite Poetry Review and a Teaching Fellow at Deakin University.
Manisha Anjali is the author of Naag Mountain, which was shortlisted for the Judith Wright Calanthe Award, longlisted for The Stella Prize and highly commended at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. She is the founder of Neptune, a research and documentation platform for dreams, visions and hallucinations. Manisha is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne.
