Join us for an inspiring evening that brings together two powerful films exploring the diverse ways communities mobilise, connect and create meaningful change.

Turning the Ship

Telling the story of the extraordinary 2024 People’s Blockade of the World’s Largest Coal Port, this rock-n-roll documentary by Rising Tide takes you through the highs, the lows, the laughs and the triumphs. You'll be swept up in the passion, the community and the power of action.

Outpicker

A sweet and inspiring documentary following a queer Chinese immigrant as she finds a sense of belonging in the Australian landscape through litter-picking.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Outpicker filmmaker, Le Luo and Rising Tide who will share insights into the power of mobilising a community and practical tips about how to do it well.

This event is being presented in partnership with Yarra Libraries and Environmental Films Australia as part of the Yarra Environmental Film Festival. Check out the other films being screened
