Citizens Park to undergo turf improvement works
The Citizens Park sportsground will be closed from 15 September to 1 October for intensive turf works to improve the durability and hardiness of the surface.
Citizens Park is one of Yarra’s most popular, used by football clubs, cricket clubs and dog owners.
As a result, the surface gets a lot of wear and tear, and the oval is now in need of short-term, intensive turf works to improve the durability of the surface ahead of the summer cricket season.
To ensure the least amount of disruption in the least amount of time, work is planned for the second half of September while the oval is not actively used by the local sporting clubs.
Given the nature of these works, access to the oval will not be permitted from 6am on Tuesday 15 September to 6am Thursday 1 October.
Please note that during these works, the playground and surrounds will remain open.
