Bagung Magali Community Room is large modern space within Bargoonga Nganjin, which is suitable for events with 50-150 guests. The space has an adjacent commercial kitchen and inbuilt AV equipment and can be divided into two separate breakout spaces.

Audio Visual system
- Wall-mounted projectors and screens to be used for presentations and film screenings
- Laptop computers can be linked to the projector via the HDMI wall input with a HDMI cable
- USB can be directly linked to the projector via the USB wall input
- Built in stereo speakers for amplified audio playback
- You may request (additional cost) in advance to hire a Council sound technician, who can setup microphones and assist with equipment setup and operation.
- You can schedule a short site visit to do a self-guided dry run of the AV system. If you'd like our staff to induct you on the AV system, there is an additional charge.

Commercial kitchen
The kitchen features a commercial gas oven, combination oven, gas salamander, urn, gas griddle, commercial dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and workbench.
Venue conditions
- Available for bookings between 9am and 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am and 6pm on Sundays.
- This space is permanently booked for our senior citizens group during business hours Tuesdays-Fridays.
- Although this space is located next to the rooftop garden, the rooftop is unable to be hired privately and is open to the public during library opening hours.
- Smoking is prohibited in all internal areas of the venue including the roof top deck area and is only permitted outside on Best Street or St Georges Rd, away from doors and openings to the building.
- Additional measures may apply for high-risk events in this space, including but not limited to: a higher bond, compulsory security guards, a valid liquor license, staff with RSAs.
- The furniture must be returned to the default configuration after each booking.
- You must supply your own cutlery, crockery, glassware and linen.
- You may choose your own caterer – we can provide recommended caterers on request.

Alcohol
Bagung Magali Community Room is not a licensed venue. You must apply for a temporary limited licence if you intend to sell alcohol.
You must submit a Partysafe form to Victoria Police if you want to:
- supply alcohol free of charge
- allow guests to bring their own alcohol
Out-of-hours bookings
If your booking is outside library opening hours, you or a representative must visit the library before your booking to collect the keys and learn the opening and closing procedures.
Noise levels
As this space is located in the library building, you must control your noise levels during office and library hours. Unacceptable noise levels that can be heard outside the room may result in the booking being cancelled and money withheld.

If you are a new user, you need to register with us before you make a booking.
Organisation bookings
If you are from an organisation, you must:
- register your organisation
- make your booking under your organisation's name.
If you're from a not-for-profit group, you may be eligible for discounted use. Contact our bookings team to find out more.
