Are you renting in a draughty home in the City of Yarra?

Get ready for winter with this free draughtproofing workshop. Learn simple, do-it-yourself, rental-friendly ways to seal up gaps around windows and doors to make your home more comfortable in cold weather.

Learn about your rights as a renter to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient.

Participants will take home a free draughtproofing kit to install at home.

Places are limited; bookings essential.

Yarra City Council is presenting four draughtproofing workshops for renters in April-May, in partnership with Yarra's neighbourhood houses and Electrify Yarra. Two of the workshops will have interpreter support:

• Tuesday 29 April, 7pm - 8:30pm at Djerring Centre, Abbotsford, hosted by Electrify Yarra, including tips for electrifying your rental property - in English
• Tuesday 13 May, 11:30am - 1pm at Collingwood Neighbourhood House – in English with interpreter support in Vietnamese
• Thursday 15 May, 11:30am - 1pm at Collingwood Neighbourhood House – in English with interpreter support in Somali
• Thursday 29 May, 12:30 - 2pm at North Carlton Railway Neighbourhood House – in English

The content for the three workshops at neighbourhood houses will be the same. The Tuesday 29 April event hosted by Electrify Yarra will include information on electrification for rental properties. Please choose the one that suits you.
