Seniors' information and support
There are a range of services and support organisations for older people in Yarra.
Our companion animal support program
Do you need help with walking your dog? If you are over 65 years old and/or have a disability, we have a free program to support you.
A volunteer will visit your house once a week and walk your dog for an hour around your local area.
You can also volunteer to be a dog walker for our program. All you need is strong interpersonal skills and experience with and a love of dogs. Time required is 1-2 hours per week.
To find out if you are eligible, to get more information or to volunteer, please call 9205 5555 or contact us.
Care finder services
The care finder service helps vulnerable older people who need intensive support to access aged care and other local services. This includes people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, people with disability; and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Visit My Aged Care to find out more about the care finder service, including who is eligible.
The program is delivered by the North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN). Three services operate in the City of Yarra.
