Yarra City Council is proposing to introduce permanent built form and design requirements for commercial areas along the south side of Heidelberg Road, which passes through Alphington and Fairfield.

In June and July 2021, we asked for your feedback on the Draft Local Area Plan and the interim Design and Development Overlay Schedule 18 (DDO18) and interim Heritage Overlays (HO511 and HO512).

After receiving feedback from the community in 2021, we’ve prepared a permanent DDO18 to replace the interim DDO and two new Heritage Overlays (HO451 and HO455) that will be progressed through Draft Amendment C273. Find out more here. 

Next steps

We are now inviting people to review the Draft Amendment and make a submission. Officers will then analyse and consider all submissions before making their recommendation to Council.

Community members will have an opportunity to speak to their submission at a Council Meeting.
