There are currently gas main renewal night works being completed along Johnston Street, Fitzroy.

The works, between Nicholson and Smith Street, are being done by Comdain and are expected to be completed by 31 March 2021. These works are necessary to ensure you continue to receive a safe, secure and reliable gas supply. The works are being conducted at night to minimise the impact of our works on local businesses, traffic and parking.

What does this mean for you?

• The area will require temporary traffic changes, restrictions to on-street parking or the closure of a section of the footpath/road.
• Efforts to reduce the impacts of disruption are made where possible, however, the nature of the works requires the use of heavy plant equipment and excavation machinery which will result in some noise/dust.
• There'll be no interruption to your gas supply during this time.

When will the works occur?

The works are scheduled to take place between Thursday 28 January and Wednesday 31 March. Working hours are from 8pm to 5am on Sunday to Thursday evenings. Works will not be done on Friday or Saturday evenings.

The works are being completed in stages, starting from Nicholson Street and working down towards Smith Street.
