'Gathered Fragments' 2026 by Elena Larriba. Hand-built ceramic, stoneware. Dimensions variable
Gathered Fragments brings together hand-built ceramic forms that carry imprints of Fitzroy and North Fitzroy’s urban surfaces - cracked pavements, worn bricks and weathered edges.
Working through pressing, breaking, layering and repair, the pieces emerge as fragments that hold traces of touch, pressure and time. Edges remain exposed, seams are visible, and surfaces shift between smooth and porous.
Installed across the curved wall, the works operate as a continuous field rather than isolated objects. Meaning is formed through the relationships between fragments, surfaces and gaps, reframing everyday textures as a shared tactile archive and inviting closer attention to what is often overlooked.
