Councillor Wade was first elected to Yarra City Council in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024. Sophie served as Mayor of Yarra between November 2020 and November 2021.
Sophie represents the suburb of Collingwood (also known as “Hoddle Ward”). Sophie has lived in Collingwood for seven years, plays netball in Clifton Hill, is a regular user of Yarra’s excellent library service, and enjoys catching up with friends at local cafes, bars and pubs.
Sophie’s priorities include making sure people of all ages and abilities can get around by walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport, advocating for more public housing, greening our streets and creating more parks and gardens, and championing First Peoples, LGBTIQA+ and migrant voices.
Councillor Wade will continue to work for stronger action on climate over this term of Council.
