The Learning Bank is a Yarra City Council service hub located in Victoria Street, Richmond, with a focus on adult literacy, business training, and life skills.

Please note, this is not a private room. This is a shared space with several programs and staff during business hours. If you require staff to work-off site during your booking, please advise the Learning Bank team.

It comprises of one open-plan training area and two small offices.

The medium-sized Training Area is suitable for general meetings, presentations and small events. The room includes a small kitchenette, whiteboard and TV.

The two small-sized Lotus and Wattle Rooms are suitable for small meetings, interviews, and study.

From Friday 3rd May The Learning Bank's opening hours will change. We will be open Monday-Thursday (9am-5pm) and Friday (by prior appointment only). Key collection will only be available Monday to Thursday.

  • This venue is utilised by Council programs during business hours and availability is limited. Priority is given to meetings relating to adult literacy, business training, and employment and life skills services and groups. 
  • The Learning Bank is a shared office space; noise levels must be monitored at all times.
  • Hirers must supply their consumables and catering.
  • Commercial and Concession (not-for-profit community groups) rates apply.

Learning Bank booking fees and other charges

Learning Bank staff may require a bond and/or booking fee for room bookings that are deemed high-risk. If charges are required, these must be paid to secure the room booking. All charges are in-line with all Yarra City Council venues and are listed below.

What constitutes a high-risk booking?

A booking may be classified as high-risk due to the inclusion of food, which increases the likelihood of requiring additional cleaning, the presence of alcohol, which heightens the potential for damage or disregard of security procedures, or when the booking party is unfamiliar with the space, raising concerns about their adherence to security measures. In these situations, hourly hire and/or a bond may be imposed.
