Clifton Hill Council Depot open day

Saturday 01 April 2023

Come and explore the Yarra Council Depot in Clifton Hill at a family friendly open day.

It’s a great opportunity to see how Yarra City Council works behind the scenes, learn more about what we do, and chat to our friendly staff.

We’ll be sharing information on how we are supporting Victoria’s transition to a circular economy, along with how we manage waste and recycling, roads, biodiversity, urban agriculture, parks and gardens and more.

It’s also a chance to find out about the new innovations and projects Yarra has planned. Our team will be available to answer any questions you have.

Some of the activities you can look forward to on the day include:

  • Enjoying a sausage sizzle with vegetarian and halal options (please bring your own plate to minimise waste).
  • Entering the draw to win a compost bin and learn more about how to reduce your food waste and turn your unavoidable food scraps into a valuable resource.
  • Finding out what happens after we collect your rubbish and recycling.
  • Engaging in some fun activities to learn more about the circular economy.
  • Hearing about exciting new technology that can recycle your soft plastics.
  • Learning how to remove graffiti on your property.
  • Enjoying a planter box demo from our Urban Agriculture facilitator.
  • Wowing the kids with the machinery used to maintain your roads, parks and gardens.
  • Learn more and ask questions about the separation of waste services charges from general rates.

Plus plenty more!

This is a free community event.
