Abbotsford Convent Get directions Share

This event is an invitation to discover the stories, cultural significance and living history of the Birrarung (Yarrra River) through the knowledge of its Traditional Custodians.

For thousands of generations, the Birrarung has been central to the lives and culture of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People. This walk will be led by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Corporation's Education team where we’ll journey the banks of the Birrarung to explore the historical and ongoing significance of this landscape, learning about Wurundjeri history, language, cultural practices and relationships with Country.

Through storytelling and time spent alongside the river, we'll gain a deeper appreciation for and understanding of the Birrarung, reflecting on our own relationship with this wonderful waterway and our shared responsibility for its ongoing care.

This event will be guided by a member of the Wurundjeri Education Team and Mappa Outdoor.
