Women of Yarra Awards 2019

Friday 08 March 2019

You’re invited to our 2019 Women of Yarra Awards ceremony on Friday 8 March from 1.30pm to 3pm at Collingwood Town Hall.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the historical achievements of women and the worldwide need for greater gender equality. We will mark this global event by presenting the 2019 Women of Yarra Awards.

Now in its 6th year, the awards celebrate the unique and important contribution women make to community, culture and progressive social change.

We will be announcing our Women of Yarra Awards at the ceremony, which will be followed by a free and delicious afternoon tea catered by ASRC catering.

We've got some impressive guests lined up:

  • Jax Jacki Brown (disability and LGBTIQ rights activist, writer and educator) will be our MC
  • Jirra Lulla Harvey (Director and Founder of Kalinya Communications, a brand and communications business which promotes Indigenous knowledge and entrepreneurship) will be our key speaker
  • Choir performances by Melbourne Indie Voices
  • Wares and products for sale from Sisterworks Inc.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the fantastic women of Yarra and find out about their impressive achievements and network with like-minded people.
