Licencing to display real estate signs for real estate agents operating in Yarra.

Real estate agents operating in Yarra must get an annual licence to display free-standing real estate agent signs, also called pointer boards.

The real estate agent sign license fee is $900 (GST Free) per agency or franchise.

Displaying real estate signs

You can only display free-standing real estate signs at these times:

  • Between 8am and 5pm on the day of a property sale.
  • 30 minutes before and after a property is open for inspection.

Your sign must:

  • not exceed 0.6 metres in width or 0.9 metres in height
  • be secured so there is no risk for pedestrians, property or traffic
  • not be placed on roundabouts, roadways, traffic islands or garden beds.

Approving your application

Once we receive your completed application, we'll send you an invoice for the annual sign licence fee. You can display your sign after you pay the fee.

Renew your real estate sign licence

You must lodge a signed renewal and any changes to your details by 30 September each year. We will send your renewal to you before this date.
