We offer a range of school swimming programs at Collingwood Leisure Centre, Fitzroy Swimming Pool and Richmond Recreation Centre. 

You can hire lanes and run your own swim program, or we can design a program to meet your needs. Classes can focus on stroke improvement, water safety and/or water sports.

We also offer group exercise classes and small group training sessions to schools after a mixed program with dry and aquatic classes.

How we run school programs

We're flexible to making swimming lessons work for you, so we'll find a time during school hours that suits your schedule.

You can choose to have school swimming as a:

• term program (once a week for the whole term)
• intensive program (8 or 10 school days in a row).

We place students with a similar ability together. We will send you a pre-program questionnaire to help streamline the grading process and maximise your lesson time. 

At the end of the program, students receive a certificate highlighting the skills they developed.

Student and instructor numbers

Each of our pools has capacity for 50 students per session. We provide a minimum of 1 instructor for every 8 students. This ensures everyone has enough guidance, feedback and supervision.

Schools may also require one of our program supervisors and we will advise if this is needed and the cost.

School swimming carnivals

We host school swimming carnivals. The iconic Fitzroy Swimming Pool is perfect for your next carnival. We offer a PA System, dive blocks, chairs and tables as part of your booking fee.

Prices

• Full: $14.85 per student, per 40-minute lesson (GST ex)
• Concession: $8.90 per student, per 40-minute lesson (GST ex)

We will advise if your school needs a program supervisor and how much this will cost.

To be eligible for a concession price, students must provide their valid healthcare or concession card.
